Upscaling to meet demand
With a rapidly growing customer base, and increased pressure on the warehouse to meet the demands of larger numbers of orders, Qualsafe looked to refresh their printing network to manage their internal processes. Jamie Beech, Group IT Manager, had previous experience with both Toshiba and Nuvem Solutions and was confident of a trusted relationship, reliable hardware and the essential functionality to work for the business requirements. Jamie commented, “The desktop printers that we were using in the warehouse were just not fit for purpose, and the number of toner cartridges we were getting through was costing us an absolute fortune. Our previous supplier had not engaged with us, to help us understand how we could better deploy printers across our sites. I contacted Nuvem, as I was confident that they would make recommendations that would best meet our business objectives.
Nuvem Solutions philosopy is to provide Managed Print Services and software solutions that help organisations print less. Michael Woodcock, Director at Nuvem Solutions, talked about the approach, “Our customers are partners, we take the time to fully understand how their business operates and offer solutions to improve document workflows, increase efficiency and where possible reduce costs. We want customers to have future-proofed technology that can be scaled to grow with their changing requirements. For Qualsafe there were two key areas, help to improve the productivity in their warehouse and rationalise printing in other areas of the business, where digitisation and cloud-based solutions could replace traditional printing processes.”
A path to digitisation
Following a full review and audit, Nuvem were able to recommend and arrange installation of robust and durable Toshiba MFD’s to replace the warehouse printers and to rationalise the office printing MFD’s from four devices to two. The new solutions has enabled Qualsafe to adapt to the needs of the business and facilitated the first steps into digitisation. A large part of Qualsafe’s portfolio is in e-learning; certificates that were traditionally printed to send to customers have now become e-certificates. This led Nuvem to propose scaling down the office printing requirements
and ultimately lowering expenditure. The warehouse operation now has a future proofed despatch solution so Qualsafe can cope with the increased volume of shipments. They have also been able to migrate documents, such as invoices, purchase receipts and delivery notes, to cloud services, further reducing printing and cutting costs.
Jamie concluded on the transition, “Nuvem, in partnership with Toshiba, took the whole pain out of the process of refreshing our print fleet. They have drastically reduced the print costs across the business, and we now have the latest technology that will enable us to take the next steps into digitisation. We are already looking at other areas for process improvement, including more cloud-based functionality, like follow-me printing, and I am very much looking forward to working with Toshiba and Nuvem on these future projects.”
